Hi! Welcome to my web site. I am Masahito YAMAZAKI, an associate professor of physics at the Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (Kavli IPMU), the University of Tokyo.

Before coming to Tokyo I was a member at School of Natural Sciences, Institute for Advanced Study; a postdoctoral fellow (an associate research scholar) at the Princeton Center for Theoretical Science, Princeton University; and a JSPS postdoctoral fellow at Kavli IPMU. As a graduate student I studied at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, the University of Tokyo, while spending considerable time at the California Institute of Technology. Here is my Curriculum Vitae.

Research Area

My research area is theoretical physics, in particular theoretical high energy physics. I have been working broadly on quantum field theories and on string theory, sometimes at the interface of neighboring areas such as mathematics, particle phenomenology, cosmology and statistical mechanics.
